Winter: From October to February, the weather is pleasant, with mild temperatures and clear skies. This season is ideal for exploring the park's natural wonders and enjoying wildlife encounters.

The best time to visit Satpura Tiger Reserve is from October to April, during the winter and early summer months. This period offers comfortable weather conditions and optimal chances for wildlife sightings, making it the preferred choice for visitors seeking an unforgettable safari experience.


Zones of Satpura Tiger Reserve:


Satpura Tiger Reserve, located in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, offers a diverse and enriching wildlife experience through its well-defined zones. Each zone has its own unique characteristics, flora, fauna, and scenic beauty, making the reserve a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers.


Madhai: Madhai is the primary entry point and one of the most popular zones in Satpura Tiger Reserve. Known for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes, including dense forests, meadows, and water bodies.



Pachmarhi: This zone encompasses the Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve, known for its hilly terrain and dense forests. Pachmarhi is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, offering a mix of adventure and serene landscapes.


Churna: Churna is known for its open meadows and grasslands, providing a different landscape compared to other zones. The zone is less crowded, offering a peaceful and intimate wildlife experience.


Panaarpani: Panaarpani is known for its water bodies and lush greenery, making it a vibrant zone during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons.

The zone is also home to various caves and rock shelters with prehistoric paintings.


Denwa Backwaters: This zone is characterized by the picturesque Denwa River and its backwaters. Offers stunning views of the river and surrounding landscapes.

Typical Itinerary for Satpura Tiger Reserve:


Day 1:

- Arrive at Satpura and check into your accommodation.

Summer (March to June):

Morning Safari: 5:30 AM to 10:00 AM

Afternoon Safari: 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM


Winter (October to February):

Morning Safari: 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM

Afternoon Safari: 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM
